Description
A unique opportunity to lease one of Anglesey’s top tourist attractions. Llynnon Mill is the only working
windmill in Wales and is a symbol of the Island; often appearing on brochures, government
documents, websites and other publications about the Island. There are also two replicated Iron Age
roundhouses together with a café/tearoom, a gift/craft shop and car park.
The 4-storey stone tower mill with a boat-shaped cap was built in 1775 and fully restored to working
order by the Local Authority in the early 1980’s. The mill has common sails and three pairs of
millstones and produces stoneground whole meal flour using organic wheat. Today it is a popular
tourist attraction, with tours giving visitors an insight of how the mill operates. Visitors can also explore
the agricultural museum related to the history of the site.
In 2007 the site was expanded with the addition of a replicated prehistoric village which includes two
replicated 10m diameter roundhouses furnished with the sort of household implements and tools that
Iron Age inhabitants would have used in their daily lives. Built from timber, wattle and daub walls
under a traditional thatched roof, the roundhouses provide visitors with a unique insight of the life of
Iron Age farmers over 3,000 years ago.
Both the shop and café are extremely popular with visitors of the mill. The craft shop offers a wide
range of gifts and craftwork including wholemeal flour ground by the mill whilst the family friendly café
offers a wide range of fine traditional meals and snacks.

Cyfle unigryw i osod un o brif atyniadau twristiaeth Ynys Môn. Melin Llynnon yw’r unig felin wynt
weithredol yng Nghymru ac mae’n symbol o'r Ynys; mae’n ymddangos yn aml ar daflenni, dogfennau’r
llywodraeth, gwefannau, a chyhoeddiadau eraill am yr Ynys. Mae yma hefyd ddau o Dai Crynion wedi
eu hatgynhyrchu o Oes yr Haearn gyda chaffi / ystafell te, siop anrhegion/crefftau a maes parcio.
Mae’r felin yn dwr carreg 4-llawr gyda tho siâp cwch. Cafodd ei hadeiladu yn 1775 a’i hadfer yn
gyflawn i gyflwr gweithio gan yr Awdurdod Lleol yn yr 1980au cynnar. Mae gan y felin hwyliau cyffredin
a thri phâr o feini melin. Mae’n cynhyrchu blawd gwenith cyflawn a falwyd â maen gan ddefnyddio
gwenith organig. Heddiw mae’n atyniad twristiaeth boblogaidd, sy’n cynnig teithiau i ymwelwyr fel y
gallant weld sut mae’r felin yn gweithio. Mae ymwelwyr hefyd yn gallu mynd o gwmpas yr amgueddfa
amaethyddol sy’n gysylltiedig â hanes y safle.
Yn 2007, ehangwyd y safle drwy ychwanegu’r atgynhyrchiad o’r pentref cynhanesyddol, sy’n cynnwys
dau dy crwn 10m o ddiamedr wedi eu dodrefnu gyda’r math o offer domestig y byddai preswylwyr
Oes yr Haearn wedi eu defnyddio o ddydd i ddydd. Wedi eu hadeiladu o goed, plethwaith, a waliau
dwb o dan do gwellt traddodiadol; mae’r tai crwn yn rhoi i ymwelwyr syniad unigryw o fywyd ffermwyr
Oes yr Haearn dros 3,000 mlynedd yn ôl.
Mae’r siop a’r caffi yn hynod o boblogaidd gydag ymwelwyr i’r felin. Mae’r siop grefftau yn cynnig
amrywiaeth eang o anrhegion a gwaith crefft gan gynnwys blawd gwenith cyflawn a falwyd â maen
yn y felin ac mae’r caffi yn addas i deuluoedd ac yn cynnig amrywiaeth eang o brydau a byrbrydau
traddodiadol o safon ragorol.

yn parhau i gael ei redeg fel atyniad i dwristiaid sydd ar agor i’r cyhoedd ac sy’n cydymffurfio
â pholisi iaith dwyieithog Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn. Bydd yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus yn gyfrifol am
dalu ffioedd cyfreithiol y Cyngor i baratoi’r les.

sy’n cynhyrchu incwm.
